Specific tasks include: - Works on routine implementation of assigned projects through timely production of project outputs, including programme and financial reports; relevant project monitoring and follow-up; monitoring project expenditures; analyzing basic factors affecting the achievement of results; recommending corrective actions and following up on recommendations. - Plans and supports all substantive and logistical preparations, including necessary financial arrangements in connection with World Population Day (WPD), UN Day and other key public events in relation to the ICPD Agenda and the MDGs. - Liaises with UNFPA headquarters (IERD) and EECARO on information, advocacy and communications issues and maintains relationships with key national partners to strengthen the overall effectiveness of UNFPA public information activities. - Supports development and execution of UNFPA communication and advocacy activities by liaising with mass media, academia and civil society. drafting speeches for the Representative, preparing press releases and articles for local press and HQ, coordinating production of TV programs and disseminating information about UNFPA to the main partners, stakeholders and beneficiaries of UNFPA programmes. - Coordinates development and production of promotional tools and information, education and communication (IEC) materials; - Maintains/updates the Country Office’s website, including article writing and producing articles for UNFPA regional and global communications channels. - Acts as a resource person on communication/advocacy, including UNFPA publications and knowledge sharing and related tasks both in relation to HQs and CO. Duties and Responsibilities III. Functions / Key Results Expected 1. Ensures effective support in preparation and implementation of CCA and UNDAF focusing on achievement of the following results: - Collection and presentation of background information for preparation of CCA and UNDAF. - Design and maintenance of various databases on CCA, UNDAF. - Provision of assistance to inter-agency working groups and committees. 2.
