What do you think about investing into Central Asian capital markets, and into Uzbekistan, in particular?

For me, as a participant of Uzbek market (real estate and equities), it is just interesting what do investors in countries with developed markets think of ours. Have you ever thought of investing into Central Asian financial markets?

Ответы очень хорошо иллюстрируют то, что бизнес-сообщество за рубежом совершенно не осведомлено о возможностях инвестирования в Узбекистан. А многие из тех, кто имеют информацию, говорят о больших рисках.

I'm not an expert in international investing.

However I have been investing since about 1995, and I do have stocks in
Chinese, Mexican, Indian, and British companies. I also read the Economist and try to get a world view...

I don't hear much about Uzbekistan. I have no way of really understanding the nuances of the socio-political climate. I don't know what Uzbeks think like. Finally, I have no way of doing thorough research on an Uzbek company.

The risks for me are therefore enormous. It would be highly unlikely for me to consider an Uzbek company unless a well respected investing website were to initiate coverage. (e.g. Motley Fool).
